Global Design Director

A global product design and technology company is seeking a Global Design Director to lead the conceptual and design direction for a major product line. This role involves shaping product identities, building visual systems, and architecting creative platforms to drive demand across various channels. The director will work closely with product, insights, and marketing teams to influence product positioning and strategy. Responsibilities

  • Own conceptual and design direction across packaging, direct-to-consumer, online retail, physical retail, video, and social media.
  • Define product identities from inception in partnership with product and insights teams.
  • Work upstream to shape product positioning and opportunity areas before formal briefs.
  • Build scalable visual systems and campaign platforms that are effective across multiple channels.
  • Design for modern attention spans, ensuring platform-native, performance-aware, and brand-building content.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a design team while maintaining active involvement in the work.
  • Utilize AI tools to enhance the pace and quality of creative exploration.
  • Present and effectively communicate creative direction to senior stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 10–15+ years in creative direction, design, or art direction, with significant senior or director-level experience.
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong conceptual thinking, visual systems, packaging, and product identity work.
  • Proven ability to define and launch brand and product identities from the ground up.
  • Experience collaborating with product and insights teams to shape positioning.
  • Fluency across brand and performance channels, including packaging, direct-to-consumer, online retail, physical retail, and social media.
  • Strong instincts for motion and social-native design.
  • High craft standards at every level of work, from system architecture to execution detail.
  • Deep fluency in Adobe Creative Suite and modern design workflows.
